Stuck in a funk. Again.
For the past 3 hours I've been diligently trying to do my homework. Since I got this piece due at 1:30, another mini essay due at 3:30pm and a grillin' seminar session at 6:00pm I AM STACKED for Monday. But wtf have I been doing? Instead of actually writing, I've been trying to find ways to inspire my writing.
I've been flippin through my playlists, digging through my CDs trying to find the perfect song to get me going. I've been trying to feel that perfect beat that'll drive my mind towards creation. I've been trying to hear that perfect rhyme that'll inspire me to spill words onto the page. I've been using all kinds of words, lyrics, and music to try to get me inspired. But not one single song or beat has won me over.
So I've turned to this: blogging? Yes.
One of the best pieces of advice I've ever been given as a writer is that when you're stuck in a funk, just write. Write anything down. Write disconnected words all over the page, type out unfinished sentences, scribble emotions down... anything. I've been told to just write and don't erase anything cause some of the best pieces of work are created from fcked up jumbled minds and hella crumpled up paper.
So here I am just writing for the sake of writing hoping to get something filtered through my mind and down towards the ends of my fingertips.

Inspire me.
You cannot find your soul with your mind, you must use your heart. You must know what you are feeling. If you don't know what you are feeling, you will create unconsciously. If you are unconscious of an aspect of yourself; if it operates outside your field of awareness, that aspect has power over you.
