is the world ending?

maybe it is.

"Is everything spinning out of control? Midwestern levees are bursting. Polar bears are adrift. Gas prices are skyrocketing. Home values are abysmal. Air fares, college tuition and health care border on unaffordable. Wars without end rage in Iraq, Afghanistan and against terrorism." - SF GATE

21+

it's official, card me.

last week was my 21st birthday celebration. call me a princess, but i definitely celebrated for awhile. thanks to my family in the city and the folks from home my birthday was stretched out for 4 days. holler.

day one: right when it striked midnight, i went to rohans & poleng to start off right with my boys. had a few girly drinks and chilled with the guys until my red face done me right. then in the afternoon my girls took me to the beach, to jj's art show, & then met up with everyone else for dinner. and later folks came over to my house and all the people i loved drank me up to a good level. it felt good. probably SO good that i yacked about 2 times that night and 2 more in the morning. gawd, i felt like shit. but hey, you only turn 21 once right?

day two: a couple of my friends wanted to take me out clubbin so we went to rouge. can you say "tao muy town?" um, yeah. shit was crackin' though! haha, everything was pretty cool besides the k-fed hair pulling and homeboy calling me "elaine." but now i definitely can say, 21+ clubs are more my steeze. i like the chill music & grown ass crowd wayyyy better.

day 3: anna came over to celebrate her bday w/ mine the next day. we went semi-crazy? by this point i think i was whining every time i saw alcohol, hahaha.

and finally day 4: bals drove me over to marissa's where my surprise was. guess what it was? the love of my life: a colorful fucking cupcake tower. i wanted cry, really...

and as a result of these few days, i probably can't look at alcohol the same way anymore. and not just because of those celebrations but especially because luke & the guys killed me at fizzi's recently. i swear the "stoplight" & drinks related will forever haunt me, haha.

honestly though this has probably been the best bday i've ever had. for once, i felt like i got everything i wanted. got my nails did!, two beautiful dresses, a surprise colorful cupcake tower (thx to bals & mar), more miette cupcakes (from the bullies), enough alcohol to kill me, and all the right people partying with me in my favorite city... all on my birthday. i had it all.

so cheers to being 21! it's a sweet feeling.
