cruisin'

growing up my brother and i used to ride around in our bikes everyday after school with our neighbors. we were obsessed. we used to have our own little "biker gang" (ages 7-13) with the local kids and have cruise sessions. we thought we were the SHIT. especially with my Minnie Mouse cruiser and my brothers teal mountain bike, we were chillin' on the drive like we owned fixie bikes postin' it at the local filipino store drinking juiceboxes. we knew wassup, hahaha. shit was all good until one sad day, i got too old for my Minnie cruiser and moved onto a lavendar mountain bike for big girls. not cool. my bike riding days weren't the same after that. i felt incomplete without my streamers on the handles, my basket in the front, and my unnecessary noisy bell that was attached to it.

so 14 years later... since then i've been wanting a cruiser. forreal, how fly would it be to raise "Minnie" from the dead? haha, so i'm doing my research and i'm feelin this sixthreezero couture line that came out. all their bikes scream comfort, speed, class, & style. and i'm downnnnn with that. one problem though: they're all pretty much $250+... argh.

Shut 'yo poker face!

so i'm not a big fan of this song nor Lady Gaga, but my homie sent me the Kid Cudi remix version feat. Common & Kanye on the track and i think with their help it makes the song more tolerable.

The reason for my absence:

USF KASAMAHAN'S BARRIO FIESTA 2k9

this show was my "baby" for a year. i cradled the shit out of it, cried over it, laughed through it, fought with it, lost sleep over it, & loved it.

this was definitely a process that i feel was a roller coaster worth going through. and now that it's over, i kind of miss it already. it's that "hate-love" relationship we all hate to be in but would be lost without it. to my last Barrio... no regrets, it was fun.

"TRIPLE A," we done did it.

a huge belated THANK YOU to all the folks who came out! especially for all those folks who kept me sane throughout the process. never thought in my right mind i'd be in charge of an event like this.

gotta love Barrio.
